Women's Cowboy Boots for the Ranch, the Dance Hall and Every Day
Our women's western boots run from hard-working ranch boots to embroidered and tooled cowgirl boots, from Ariat, R. Watson, Twisted X, Durango, Macie Bean, Tecovas, Lane, Horse Power and Very G. We have fit boots at our store in Elk City, Oklahoma since 1980.
Choosing Women's Cowboy Boots
- Toe: a broad square toe gives the most room and is the most popular today. A round toe is the classic ranch shape. A snip toe dresses the boot up.
- Heel: a riding heel is taller and angled for the stirrup. A walking heel is lower and easier on your feet all day.
- Shaft height: tall shafts look best with dresses and skirts. Shorter shafts and booties tuck under jeans.
- Calf fit: check the calf measurement listed on the boot against your calf, especially if you plan to tuck jeans in.
How Cowboy Boots Should Fit
- Snug across the top of your foot, since a pull-on boot has no laces to hold it.
- About a quarter inch of heel slip in a new boot is normal and settles as the sole breaks in.
- Room to wiggle your toes, with the ball of your foot at the widest part of the boot.

Women's Cowboy Boot FAQ
Do women's cowboy boots run true to size?
Most run close to your sneaker size, but it varies by brand and toe shape. If you are between sizes, try both. Leather gives a little in width, never in length.
What is the most comfortable women's cowboy boot for all-day wear?
Look for a walking heel, a cushioned footbed and a broad square toe. Those three make the biggest difference over a long day.
Do you have western boots for girls?
Yes. See our kids western boots.
Can I try boots on in store?
Yes. Our Elk City store at 3000 W 3rd St is open Monday through Friday 8 to 6 and Saturday 10 to 5.
