How to Pick a Work Boot

Start with what your job requires, then fit for comfort. Most crews we fit need four things settled: the safety toe, the hazard ratings, the sole, and pull-on vs. lace-up.

Work Boot FAQ

Steel toe or composite toe?

Both can carry the same ASTM F2413 I/C rating. Steel toe caps are thinner; composite is lighter and has no metal. See steel toe vs. composite toe.

Are oil-resistant boots slip-resistant?

Not automatically. Look for SR on the ASTM label. Our oilfield work boot guide explains the difference.

Should I replace the factory insole?

Many hands do for 12-hour shifts. Bring your insole when you get fitted so we size the boot with it in.

Can my company pay for my boots?

Yes, through our company boot programs. See how a boot allowance works.
