What is it made of? A 100% polyester shell with a tricot lining.
Is this coat waterproof? Ariat does not publish a waterproof or seam-sealed rating for it. The storm flap, neoprene cuffs, and hood are built to keep rain off you in drizzle and passing showers, not in a sustained downpour.
Does the hood come off? The hood stows away rather than detaching, so it is there when you need it and out of the way when you don't.
Can it be machine washed? Yes. Secure all closures, wash separately on delicate in cold water, skip bleach and softener, and line dry.
