The Sergio Lub Copper Sage bracelet (style 378) was inspired by a conversation between Sergio and Grandfather Wallace Black Elk, a medicine man of the Lakota people. After a sweat lodge session, Black Elk shared with Sergio: "We burn sage to purify an area so the spirits of our ancestors will come to share with us their wisdom." The bracelet is woven as a metaphor for the bundled sage stick, burned like incense before sacred ceremonies in many Indigenous traditions. Crafted in solid pure copper with the substantial weight of a true heirloom piece, this is the larger, more substantial sibling of the original Little Sage. Handcrafted in the Sergio Lub family's Northern California studios using techniques refined since 1969 — solid metal throughout, no plating to chip or fade, so the bracelet ages into a patina uniquely your own. Sergio Lub Jewelry is a family-run jewelry house founded in 1969 and handcrafted to this day in their Northern California studios. Each bracelet is individually made using traditional metalworking techniques passed down through the family, with only solid metals — no plating that can chip or wear off — so the piece ages gracefully with you over years of continuous wear. The three primary metals in the Sergio Lub line are 99.99% pure copper (the rose/red metal), jeweler's brass (an alloy of approximately 85% copper and 15% zinc, golden in color), and German silver (an alloy of approximately 65% copper with zinc and nickel, silver in color). Many designs combine multiple metals, joined with silver solder using techniques that require reading the glow of each metal as it heats — true heritage craftsmanship. Bracelets are annealed for longevity and designed to be adjustable, so each piece can be custom-fitted to the wearer's wrist on first wear. Sizing runs Small (wrists up to 6"), Medium (6"–7"), Large (7"–8"), and Extra Large (over 8").
