- A classic-fit shirt is cut straight through the chest and waist with everyday room to move. Measure around the fullest part of your chest and order the size whose range contains that measurement — for example a 40-inch chest takes a Medium.
- Does the Ariat Classic Shirt run true to size?
- Yes. Order your normal shirt size based on your chest measurement. If you are between sizes or plan to layer, size up.

- Wearing a shirt over a baselayer? If you're between sizes, take the larger one.
Sizing questions
- Are 2XL and 1X the same size?
- They overlap. Both fit about a 45 to 46 inch chest. 2XL (Ariat's XXL) covers a 38 to 40 inch waist and 1X covers 37.5 to 39.5 inches, so compare your waist and hip to choose.
- Is the chart in body or shirt measurements?
- Body measurements. Measure yourself, not a shirt you own.
