Product Description
Danner's old caulked logger pattern on a modern sneaker sole
The Logger 917 borrows its lines from the caulked logging boots Danner built in the Pacific Northwest, then puts them on a sole built for pavement and light trail instead of a cutting unit. A GORE-TEX liner handles wet weather, the Vibram SPE midsole is rubberized EVA that holds its cushion instead of packing flat after a season, and the Vibram 917 outsole runs XS Trek rubber that grips wet concrete as well as it does dirt. Modernized stitchdown construction gives it a wide, stable platform without the buffed sidewall, and the whole boot comes in at 36 ounces a pair — light for six inches of full-grain leather. When the tread finally goes, Danner will resole it.
