Product Description
Smooth-toe 6-inch heritage boot in Chocolate Muleskinner roughout leather on a Vibram Mini-Lug outsole, made in USA
The Blacksmith is the Red Wing heritage boot you can wear every day. It started as a 6-inch boot built to shield feet from hot cinders at the forge, and it still locks out dirt in summer and snow in winter. This version is built in Chocolate Muleskinner, a dark brown full-grain roughout leather from Red Wing's own S.B. Foot tannery with a burnished look that shows texture and wears in rather than wearing out. A smooth toe on the No. 8 last, bronze hardware and flat waxed laces keep it clean enough to go to town. Goodyear leather welt construction, Puritan triple stitching and a steel shank mean it can be resoled for years of wear. Vibram 430 Mini-Lug outsole for traction in any season. Handcrafted in Red Wing, Minnesota.

FAQ
How does the Blacksmith fit? Red Wing Heritage runs large. Most people go a half size down from their sneaker size. The No. 8 last has a bump toe that gives toes room to move.
What is Muleskinner leather? It is a roughout, meaning the flesh side of the hide faces out. It has a suede-like nap, hides scuffs well and needs less upkeep than a smooth finish.
How do I care for it? Use the eraser bar and bristle brush from Red Wing's Roughout Cleaner Kit, then a light coat of Mink Oil if you want it conditioned. Mink Oil darkens the leather, so go sparingly.
Can it be resoled? Yes. The Goodyear welt construction means a cobbler or Red Wing's repair shop can replace the Vibram outsole.
Is this a safety toe boot? No. The Blacksmith is a soft toe heritage boot.
