Terrycloth is the whole point of this one — plush on the inside, substantial in the hand, and it gets softer every wash instead of thinning out. Ariat mineral-washes it before it ships, so it arrives already broken in and won't shrink much on you. The hood sits open in a V rather than closing at the throat, the side slits keep the hem from riding up when you sit, and the embroidery on the chest is small and tonal. It's a sweatshirt cut to be worn out of the house.

What's terrycloth like to wear? Plush and absorbent, closer to a towel than a fleece on the inside. It has more weight than a standard sweatshirt and softens with every wash.
Will it shrink? It's mineral washed before it ships, which takes most of the shrinkage out up front.
Does the hood close at the neck? No — it's a three-piece hood that sits open in a V at the front.
Can this be machine washed? Yes — turn it inside out and wash warm with like colors on the delicate cycle, then tumble dry warm. Keep the iron off the embroidery.

- Are 2XL and 1X the same size?
- They overlap. Both fit about a 45 to 46 inch chest. 2XL (Ariat's XXL) covers a 38 to 40 inch waist and 1X covers 37.5 to 39.5 inches, so compare your waist and hip to choose.
- Is the chart in body or shirt measurements?
- Body measurements. Measure yourself, not a shirt you own.
