Terrycloth is the whole point of this one — plush on the inside, substantial in the hand, and it gets softer every wash instead of thinning out. Ariat mineral-washes it before it ships, so it arrives already broken in and won't shrink much on you. The hood sits open in a V rather than closing at the throat, the side slits keep the hem from riding up when you sit, and the embroidery on the chest is small and tonal. It's a sweatshirt cut to be worn out of the house.
