The Radical 451 is a 5-inch lace-up built for miles on wet, broken ground. A full-grain leather upper carries an abrasion-resistant PU coating over the toe cap and heel — the two places a leather boot wears through first — and the Danner Dry liner keeps water out while letting sweat escape. Underfoot, the Terra Force Trail platform runs an exposed TPU arch for support on uneven footing, and the Basalt outsole uses oversized lugs that clear mud instead of packing with it. At 40 ounces a pair it is not a heavy boot, and when the tread finally goes, Danner will resole it rather than you buying another pair.
